1. Harry Potter - J.K. Rowling

I think this book is a given for anyone who grew up a Potterhead. I love this series with my whole heart. It teaches readers lessons on life, love, and morality. It shows you that love can overcome all types of evil, to always stand up for what you believe in, and to choose kindness above all else. The lessons only make the magic that much more special.

2. The Alchemist - Paulo Coelo

This is a book you have either read, heard about, or avoid because you have heard about it so much. I promise, this book is worth the read. It teaches a lesson on the true values in life and that an important part of life is the journey we take along the way.

3. Dodger - Terry Pratchett

Dodger is one of those books that I can't really describe why I love it. I remember having to read it for a summer reading project and instantly fell in love with it. It has stayed on my favorite book list since I was thirteen and I don't think it will ever leave.

This is one of the first books I read that gave a raw image of the reality of our world. It showed that not everywhere is paradise and that cruelty can exist anywhere. It shed light on the subject of war and terrorism that exist in the Middle East.

5. To Kill A Mockingbird - Harper Lee

I had to read this book for one of my English classes and I loved it. It tells a story rooted in the years when racism was at a peak. It opens your mind to different perspectives and inspires you to be supportive and kind towards everyone. After all, it's who we are on the inside that truly defines us.

6. The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R Tolkien

This was another series I grew up on and it has a special place in my heart. For me, it taught me bravery, selflessness, and perseverance. Sometimes in life, we have to go out of our comfort zones in order to change the world around us.
